ABCRC Selects Corral Ai to Advance Beverage Container Quality Assurance Across Alberta

EDMONTON, Alberta | October 21, 2026 — The Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation (ABCRC), one of the world’s premier beverage container collection and recycling operators, has selected Edmonton-based Corral Ai to advance container detection, counting and verification at its St. Albert and Calgary warehouse facilities. Processing more than two billion beverage containers annually, ABCRC is investing in AI-powered technology to strengthen quality assurance across its operations.

The collaboration brings together Corral Ai’s artificial intelligence and computer vision technology, proven across North America and Australia, with ABCRC’s deep operational expertise. The shared goal: stronger quality assurance, better operational visibility and continued innovation across Alberta’s beverage container recycling system.

Local expertise. International experience.

Corral Ai’s Alberta-based team will work closely with ABCRC to support implementation, respond to operational needs and develop new capabilities informed by daily warehouse operations.

“Being selected by an elite recycling leader like ABCRC is an exciting opportunity for Corral Ai, and it’s especially meaningful to do this work here at home in Alberta,” said Phil Perron, President and Founder of Corral Ai. “We’re bringing proven detection technology and pairing it with ABCRC’s deep operational knowledge. Having our team here in Alberta means we can work closely together, learn from daily operations and turn those insights into meaningful improvements.”

ABCRC plays a central role in Alberta’s beverage container recycling system. Its commitment to continuous improvement aligns with Corral Ai’s focus on practical technology that addresses the challenges recycling operators face every day.

Better visibility. Stronger quality assurance.

The solution will combine Corral Ai’s industrial detection technology with software for live monitoring, alerts and reporting. These capabilities will help ABCRC’s teams verify container counts, identify issues requiring attention and make informed operational decisions.

Feedback from warehouse teams will help guide refinements as the technology becomes part of daily operations, creating opportunities for ongoing improvement.

“An effective recycling system depends on trust, accountability and a willingness to keep improving,” said Shane Boschman, Chief Operating Officer of ABCRC. “Corral Ai brings proven technology, a strong understanding of our industry and the benefit of a local team that can work alongside ours. This collaboration is an exciting opportunity to strengthen quality assurance while supporting Alberta innovation and helping shape the next generation of beverage container recycling.”

Customer experience that drives innovation.

Welcoming ABCRC adds the perspective of a major recycling processor to Corral Ai’s growing customer community, alongside depot operators across North America and Australia.

Experience across these different operating environments will help shape new capabilities, guide development priorities and expand the platform’s potential applications. For Corral Ai customers, that means a broader foundation of operational knowledge informing the technology they use as their businesses grow.

“Our customers are a driving force behind our innovation,” said Ryan Hefflick, Partner and VP of Business Development at Corral Ai. “Every operation brings different ideas, experience and challenges that help us improve. Welcoming ABCRC into our customer community gives us an exciting opportunity to develop new capabilities, deliver more value to existing customers and support the industry as its needs evolve.”

Together, ABCRC and Corral Ai are working to strengthen container verification today and create new opportunities for recycling innovation in Alberta and beyond.
